Countryside to enjoy

Most of the land within the Gilston Area is currently quite intensively farmed. Our proposals will restore much of this land to open countryside, enabling residents to enjoy new walking paths, trails and open green space.

of Gilston Park Estate left undeveloped

Extensive parkland and countryside providing a tranquil environment linked with walking and cycle routes

Gilston Park Estate will include numerous parks, public gardens, sports facilities, play spaces, amenities and retained natural countryside and woodland.

Community owned countryside

To protect the green spaces within Gilston Park Estate, Places for People will build on less than 40% of their land. The remaining majority will be transferred to community ownership. This means that residents will have an opportunity to participate in the long-term management of this large area of open countryside and have a real say in its future use.

The result of all of this is a place that actually improves access to the countryside for both new and existing residents alike – and makes Gilston Park Estate a fantastic place to live.
