Regenerating Harlow

Harlow is at the heart of one of the most economically productive and fastest growing areas of the UK. People want to live in this region and businesses want to set up here. The town’s Enterprise Zone is proving a huge success, while Public Health England is moving to the town creating thousands more jobs. However, to make the most of the fantastic growth opportunity, Harlow is in urgent need of regeneration.

Thousands of new jobs

Gilston Park Estate will directly benefit Harlow with the creation of thousands of construction jobs and apprenticeships, as well as many more in the business, retail and service industries. Gilston Park Estate will also be home to its own health, educational and community facilities which will create even more employment opportunities.

Training for the future

A new generation of skilled workers is required, so Places for People has already begun to work in partnership with Passmores Academy to deliver a new Vocational Skills Centre for students and the wider community. Qualified courses across construction, child care and health and beauty will mean young people in Harlow will be the ones to benefit from the opportunities presented by Gilston Park Estate.

Investing in the town

Places for People has also committed to provide a multi-million pound Harlow Investment Fund from its own resources to support the town’s regeneration.
